Terms of Use & Risk Disclaimer

Last updated: April 2026 · Version 1.0

Read this carefully before using Invalid Signal. By creating an account and using this platform you confirm you have read, understood, and accepted everything on this page. Trading involves substantial risk of loss. You may lose all capital you allocate to trading activity generated by this platform.

1. What Invalid Signal is

Invalid Signal is a software tool that generates automated trading signals and places orders on a brokerage account you own and control. It is not a fund, not an investment vehicle, and not a managed account service. No money is pooled. No returns are promised or implied. You retain full ownership and control of your brokerage account at all times.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing on this platform — including signals, performance data, simulation results, strategy descriptions, or any other content — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Invalid Signal is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or any other financial regulator. You should consult a qualified financial adviser before making any investment decision.

3. You join and trade voluntarily

Your use of this platform is entirely voluntary. You chose to connect your brokerage account and enable automated trading. You can disconnect and disable trading at any time from your Settings page. By enabling trading on your account you accept full personal responsibility for all trades placed and all outcomes that result.

4. No liability for losses

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Invalid Signal, its operators, developers, and contributors accept no liability whatsoever for:

  • Any financial loss, whether direct, indirect, or consequential, arising from trades placed by this platform on your account
  • Losses arising from system downtime, technical failures, missed signals, incorrect data, or execution errors
  • Losses arising from adverse market conditions, gap openings, liquidity issues, or any other market event
  • Any loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of data

You use this platform entirely at your own risk.

5. Past performance and simulation results

Historical results, backtests, and simulation data shown on this platform are for informational purposes only. They are based on idealised assumptions including perfect entry and exit prices, no slippage, and no missed fills. Past performance and simulation results are not indicative of future results. Real trading performance will differ, and may be significantly worse.

6. Paper trading phase

During the paper trading phase all orders are placed on a simulated brokerage account using virtual money provided by Alpaca Markets. No real money is traded during this phase. The transition to live trading requires explicit approval from the platform administrator and a separate acknowledgement from you.

7. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for understanding how automated trading works before enabling it
  • You are responsible for monitoring your account and disabling trading if you are not comfortable with its activity
  • You are responsible for ensuring your brokerage account has sufficient funds and margin to support the positions this platform may open
  • You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from trading activity on your account

8. Eligibility

By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are legally permitted to engage in securities trading in your jurisdiction, and that you are not located in a jurisdiction where use of this platform would be prohibited.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
